What to Wear to Rehearsal Dinner

Many lucky ladies will have enough stress figuring out the formal or semi-formal dress to wear to the actual wedding(s) they are invited to this Spring and Summer.  But what about the rehearsal dinner!?

Often times the rehearsal dinner is in a semi-casual atmosphere, such as an Italian Restaurant or  even a bar and grille.  My best advice is to get a hint as to what the Bride or Bridesmaids are wearing.  As long as you aren't going to a casual BBQ (which, by the way, is a super fun way to do a rehearsal dinner!  but a dress might not be appropriate) then read on for some dress ideas!

Yes, I said DRESS!  Ladies, be classy - someone you are close to is getting married, show your respect by dressing up to acknowledge her big day!  You can do it!

Dress Look #1:  I'm Ready for Spring! (also bringing in the one-shoulder trend)

This FABULOUS floral dress is idea for a cocktail hour or rehearsal dinner!  The bold colors set against white scream SPRING!  (or even summer, if you play up the yellows and oranges!)
I found this Eliza J one shoulder dress on Zappos

Pair it with bold color accessories and nude/white sandals!

Dress Look #2 "I'm finally over wearing a black dress to everything...kinda"
Translation, I've finally convinced you to STOP wearing black - so you compromised and will wear navy (which is great!)
A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz navy silk draped strapless belted dress style# 311331701
I love this short ABS Allen Swartz silk dress!  The belt dresses it down a bit too!  Pair it with a cream/tan bolero jacket and brown leather sandals.

Dress Look #3 "Classic Sheath Dress, in a Bold Color!"

You can't go wrong with a sheath dress, its timeless and classic.  It can be dressed up or down when purchased in a non-shiny (think no satin or silk) fabric!

I love this one, again from Zappos.com, from the JAX Dress Collection (a new fav of mine)

You hardly need accessories because of the neckline, and any neutral shoe will work!

I also highly recommend this for a friend's baby or bridal shower!!

Dress Look #4 "Jewel Tone Color!"
how about this dress, a steal at $60 at JC Penny (in stores now) in this amazing jade color
Ruffle Neck Shimmer Shutter Dress

You can be safe and dress it with black accessories for night time, or you can do silver too!
Other jewel tone dresses at JC Penny right now (budget friendly!)
Sangria Shimmer Shutter Dress w/Ruffle Straps
Jones Wear® Swirl Seam Satin Sheath Dress
American Living Mock Wrap Dress w/Side Cascade

Dress Look #5 "Black and White Sophisticated"
Of COURSE I am going to suggest a dress from White House Black Market - because nobody does a classic black and white pairing better!

For daytime events I love this gingham dress

You will look drop dead amazing pairing this dress with bright blue accessories (everyone would expect black or red - don't be predictable)

Or take a different spin with this stripped dress!

The way the striped are lined up creates an insanely flattering look!  Again, you can introduce a color here to really brighten it up!  Depending on your available cardigans or jackets, you can really get a lot of use of out a dress like this in your closet!!

  1. Truly great information about what to wear at wedding rehearsal party. Last month, searched online for best dress that I could wear for my friend’s wedding rehearsal. It was arranged at one of lovely New York venues and we enjoyed a lot.
