Neon Pink Lips!

The hottest lip look that made a MAJOR debut in the fashion/hollywood World this past week is neon pink lips!  I'm a huge fan of the trend, and I will tell you how to take it from runway to real-way!

Emma Stone and Kelly Osborne rocked the trend this past weekend:

and as you can see, they went with a simple black eyeliner and soft blush to keep the focus on the lips!  These other beauties did the same - and note that the trend works for all skin tones and hair colors!

here is how to get this lip-service right!!!

Start with a soft-powder (semi-matte) finish on your face, a little bronzer is good (but pink looks good with all skin tones - so if you are fair-skinned the look will work).

For eyes, do a champagne base shade (shimmery and neutral) from lid to brow bone, then line your eyes with a dark liner.  I recommend only lining the top lid, then after the lipstick is on, if you want to add more liner (thicker line or some on the lower lash line) then go for it.  But when doing a drastic eye or a drastic lip - add your color in slowly.  You can also add a taupe or a shimmery brown eyeshadow in your crease to add definition, but without adding a lot of color.

Don't forget some mascara and define the eye brows!

Then, add the lip color before you do blush.

My favorite hot pink lip color is Bare Essentuals Buxom "Big and Healthy Lip Stick" in Las Vegas, the stick is minty and plumping and the color is intense!

You can use this as an all over lip color, or just as a liner (its totally fool-proof and only $18!)

If you want to amp it up with some major shine:

Then I recommend Make Up For Ever's Lab Shine Lip Gloss, $18 in S26 over the lip stick

Once you have your lipcolor on, then add a rosy blush until you feel that you've balanced the color.

Here is what to avoid:

Pastel Eye Shadow with the bright pink lip.

You don't want to look like a creepy doll

Going too dark with the eyes AND having a bold lip.

It can work for a girl like Kim K, who is photographed and out at night all glammed up, but if you're at the office...its a no-no

Doing too much makeup with the bright pink lip:

It will look to over-done....what you want to end up with is looking fresh-faced, and not caked with cosmetics!

Other fabulous pinks to try:
MAC "Double Dazzle"

STILA Long Wear Lip Color $22, in "Exhilarating"

You can also do a "Baby Pink" lip, instead of the neon pink, same makeup rules apply!

By using "La Lip Jolie" a baby pink gloss by Fusion Beauty ($29 at Sephora) which is a lip plumper that means business!  Your lips will be looking "Jolie" for sure (as in Angelina!)

Have fun with this new trend!
