Get Summer Out of Your System: Part 5

It's the last of my series of summer trends to make sure you fit in again before the season ends, and my final pick is

Part 5:  The Slicked-Back Bun

One of my favorite summer hairstyles is the slicked back bun, and mainly because its so easy to do!  I love effort-less chic!

Start with wet hair, smooth hair back with a gel or styling cream, and twist hair tightly into a bun and secure with pins.  The higher the placement of the bun, the more youthful the look is (lower buns look more sophisticated)

A middle-part is more striking, and almost looks European

A side part works best when you place the bun on the side as well

Remember to keep the low, full bun reserved for more formal occasions - because it can look too classic and mature for shorts and a tank top

Also remember to add a fun summer statement-earring!

For something totally on-trend right now, try feathers

the reason this is a summer look is the slickness of the hair, which looks like you are in St. Tropez strolling the beach, or climbing out of the pool.  To keep the look into fall, put hair back when its dry, and instead of perfectly tucked in strands, leave the look messy.
