A "Blue Tie" Affair

Navy is the new black this fall, and if you don't believe me, ask Christian Dior!

Christian Dior was once quoted as saying "Navy blue is the only color that can compete with black."  And boy, was he right!

Dior's Fall 2011 Campaign details were just released, and its ALL about navy!!  From trench coats, dresses and leather goods and through the cosmetic collection, all in complementary (and striking) shades of navy blue!

Models are wearing a oceanic-blue eye with coordinating dark navy nails, but keeping the look day-appropriate with a pale pink cheek and lip!  Gorgeous!

For those of you that think blue eyeshadow is an 1980's rejection, you are so wrong!  Dior would never disappoint us, and the eye palette is full of metallic pigments that make this look anything but old-school!

(Blue Tie Palette $70 at Sephora, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, etc)

For those of you who aren't interested in splurging on the full color palette above, there is a 3 color palette available in "Smokey Navy" for $40 (same retailers)

Possibly just as impressive as the eye shadows are the nail colors!

The "Blue Tie" shade is somehow the perfect navy, its a bold, deep color with a hint of shimmer and looks amazing on all skin tones. ($21 at Bloomingdales)

The shade "Blue Denim" is more matte and bright

Navy is back and in a big way, and you can totally have the look with these great shades from Dior!
