Gathering Inspiration for a Vamp Themed Photo Shoot

I've been collecting some images to inspire me for a photo shoot I am trying to put together (and determining a location is super tough!)

Check out this cool nail inspiration I found, how they darkened the nail beds with costume makeup!  Cool!

I also ordered red contact lens to amp up the creepy factor!

Even MORE Disney Beauty Themed Products

I dunno about you, but I kinda have a thing for the Disney villains, my two favorite always have been Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, mainly because she ROCKS that purple and black eye look, and of course, Cruela DeVille.  Not really for the skinning puppies thing, but for the two-tone hair and rich bitch style.  even as a kid I had a healthy respect for the looks!  HA!

I've blogged all about the Disney Princess Collections at Sephora in the past - when they did entire collections that featured full cosmetic and fragrance inspirations around Jasmine, Ariel and Cinderella.  Those collections were very high quality and were in a mid-price range.

ELF (eyes, lips, face) is a super low-priced cosmetics line that has grown to epic proportions in recent years, and they even opened their first flagship store in NYC in 2012!  ELF prides themselves with offering $1, $3 and $6 products, as well as kits and ensembles that are also very fairly priced.  I've blogged in the past about how to spend $30 with them and stock up your bag - and I've tried 98% of their products to weed out the ones that are TRUE beauty steals!

Now ELF is bringing out the unexpected - a Disney Villains makeup collection!  This collection will be sold in kits and will be at participating Walgreens locations starting this week!

For $9.99 you can get a kit that features the Evil Queen, Maleficent and Cruela

This isn't some cheapy junk kit that is just for 7 year olds - there are actual looks and inspirations that you can re-create

The one item in the kit that is probably headed right for the trash are the false lashes

they are a bit too plastic - use them for Halloween! LOL!

Its just a fun kit with cute shades to have a good time with- especially if you like the novelty of Disney!

Other items in the Villians Collection are nail polish kits:

False Nail Applications (these are def for the younger tween set!)

So check it out at your local Walgreens this week!  They will make great Halloween gifts!

It's a WONDER!

I can't believe I stumbled upon this incredible beauty find!!  Its the NYX Cosmetics "Wonder Pencil"

This perfect nude pencil, available in three shades, is only $4.50 and is the pencil you never knew you needed!

For the price, I decided to get all three shades

and this pencil really IS a wonder to behold!  There are several uses, but my favorite is using it to line the waterline on your eyes

(I used the 'light' shade for this)

Its a common mistake to think that a white pencil should be used, when in reality the 'whites' of your eyes are NOT white, so using a white pencil is too harsh and makes eyes look yellow-y.  Where as this perfect pale nude is flesh toned and makes eyes pop!

You can also use the pencil to line the bottom part of your brows, which gives flawless definition and makes brows appear more shapely, EVEN if you didn't do anything to the brow!  Genius!

Used NYX on Water Line

I also like to use the 'medium' and 'deep' to line lips as a neutral lip liner for a gloss, or for essentially an 'invisible' lip line to apply a bold dark hue (hello: ALL things Fall!) to the lips and have no bleeding or fraying of the color!

Finally - the third use was to cover some redness from an emerging blemish I had on the go (it was the only concealer-type shade I had with me) and I was surprised to see its versatility and creaminess!  Plus it STAYED ON!

This under $5 steal is a MUST have for your beauty arsenal!

I'm Back!

Hi readers!  I knows its been well over a week since I've posted and blogged about ALL things beauty - but that's because I wasn't feeling so beautiful.  Boo!

I had a minor surgery that took a while to recover from, but I am starting to feel better and ready to fill you all in on hot Fall trends and makeup tips!
