What's new in hair accessories - must haves! (and how-to video!)

It's new and amazing, and the PERFECT hair tool for "second day hair" (use with dry shampoo to create extra texture and zap oil and grease buildup on roots!)

It's the goody bun spiral!

available in blond or brown

you can create messy top knots and low buns so quick and easy!

I found this awesome 50 second tutorial on how to use the bun spiral, and I immediately had to get one (or two!)

Another great accessory to purchase along with the bun spiral are some goody spin pins:

Create a great side bun in three simple steps:

PS- for half up/down styles, Goody now makes spin pin minis!

(also great for thin hair)

If you have layered hair or bangs that you want to pull back, the 'double headband' is the other perfect accessory to your messy bun!

I also love headbands with bows and accents, they make a 2 minute simple hair style instantly look glam! Perfect for going out after work! (keep your spin pins and headbands handy in your purse for impromptu styling!)

How else to make it fabulous? Add braids or a scarf!

Here are my fav products for creating these looks:

Dry Shampoo:

Get your hands on some Batiste Dry Shampoo (I love the "fresh" scented one) at Ulta for $7.99

Use a teasing brush to get volume at the roots

Sally Beauty Supply for $5.99

To boost root volume, I go for Alterna's Bamboo Root Blast Spray ($12 at Ulta)

To add texture and light control before you pull hair into the bun, I love Bumble & Bumble's Hair (Un)Dressing Creme

$26 at Sephora and B&B salons

I also like Pantene's Med/Thick Styling Creme

$5.99 at Walgreens

For tucking in a few stray strands here and there, I only use Conair's Mini Bobby Pins
Conair Mini Bobby Pins Brown
They are half the size of regular bobby pins so they tuck in easily! ($2 at WalMart)

Keep several headbands in your purse or car, they always work with a messy bun! I like this one from Forever 21 ($4)
Forever 21 Womens Double Braided Headband

For stuffing into a pocket, try Goody's reversible soft headbands
Goody Reversible Headband
$4 at Walgreens
